2 - How To Update Your ECM's Firmware

Updating the firmware on your new Impact ECU is a straightforward process that can be completed with just a few mouse clicks.

Important: Before proceeding, ensure that all instances of TunerStudio are closed.

Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware

You can find the latest version of our firmware by clicking [here].

Step 2: Extract the Firmware Bundle

Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the firmware bundle. Right-click the .zip file and select "Extract". Note that your menu options may vary slightly.

Step 3: Download and Install Java JDK

Click [here] to download the Java JDK software, which is required to run the auto-updater.

Step 4: Update the Firmware

Ensure that your bike's ignition is turned off. Connect your Impact ECM to your computer using a USB Type B Version 2 cable, commonly used for printers.

Step 5: Access the Firmware Folder

Once your ECM is connected to your computer, navigate to the folder where you extracted the firmware. Open the folder labeled with the firmware version name.

You should see several folders similar to those shown in the image below. Double-click the "console" folder.

Step 6: Run the Auto-Update Program

Inside the "console" folder, locate the file named "rusefi_autoupdate.exe". Double-click on this file. When prompted to allow the program to run, select "Allow" and wait for the program to load. Once the program, resembling the image below, appears, click "Update Firmware".

Once the ECM update is complete, a firmware update success message will appear, as shown in the image below. You can now close the update program. The process is complete!
